FASHION WEEK: London Fashion Week 2019
A week full of inspiration and breathtaking designs. Bloggers, Press, Designers as well as clients from all over the world, come to see the new Autumn/Winter 2019 collections at the London fashion weeks. Me and my sister Tiia Camilla Pötry, who is also known as my manager, got the honour to attend several fashion shows and presentations last week like the shows of Junne, Kalissi, and Magpies & Peacocks.
Magpies & Peacocks showed their new collection which is created from upcycled textiles. It was inspiring and interesting to see the perfect handprints clearly in every design. Kalissi took us into a different world. Such a colourful and surreal show! It was high fashion with a brave twist and powerful statements. Lots of pastel shades, as well as different textures like tweed and silk, were surrounding us the evening. One of many astounding elements were the colourful headpieces on the catwalk. Hats and turbans which were made from silk or fur were crucial elements this year in the shows. One of the Junne shows interesting features was how it took us into the designers' world of highlighting the feminine qualities in fashion with simultaneously portraying it as strong, like an iron fist but with a velvet glove on it. The collection has created an extraordinary dressing style for elegant and independent urban females. They have used the different knitting language, with bold, unconventional design concepts to break the traditional knitted framework. The show was powerful and thought-provoking, which brought lots of emotion out in the viewer! This strong attitude radiated from the design and from the whole collection.
We finished our London Fashion Week with the Malan Breton Presentation. It couldn't have been a better way to end such an unforgettable week. The presentation was so interactive. He placed us into his film noir set and we became voyeurs of his vision - this will stay in our memory! We can't wait for the next fashion weeks and the new inspirations and stories it will bring into the fashion industry.
